What Skincare Should I Do Before Going To School?

School mornings can be hectic, but a quick skincare routine can make a world of difference. Here’s a Quick and Easy Morning Skincare Routine to prep your skin for the day:

Step 1: Cleanse

Start with a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt or oil buildup. Look for a cleanser that suits your skin type. I love the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for its mild formula and Cerva Acne Treatment Face Wash very effective for my acne prone skin babes, especially on a budget.

Step 2: Tone

This step is most times overlooked as a non essential one but toner gently removes any lingering impurities, restores your skin’s pH balance, and preps it to absorb your moisturizer better. It’s like giving your skin a refreshing drink after a workout!

Whether you have oily, dry, or combination skin, there’s a toner out there for you. Look for alcohol-free options to avoid drying out your skin. Find them HERE!

Step 3: Moisturize

Hydration is key! Choose a moisturizer that locks in moisture without feeling greasy. If you have dry skin, opt for a richer cream. I’m a fan of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream. For oily skin, a lightweight gel moisturizer will do the trick try Oil Control Moisturizing Gel-Cream Face Moisturizer.

Step 4: SPF is a Must

Protect your skin from harmful UV rays with a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Look for one that’s lightweight and won’t clog your pores. The Black Girl Sunscreen is a great option for dark skin tones. Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for dry skin and Make It Matte or Oily Skin.

Remember: Consistency is key! Make skincare a non-negotiable part of your morning routine, and you’ll start to see a difference in your skin’s overall health and appearance.

What is the Correct Order For Skin Preparation?

  1. Cleanse: Wash your face with a gentle cleanser to remove impurities.
  2. Tone: Apply toner to remove any lingering impurities, restores your skin’s pH balance and preps it to absorb your moisturizer better.
  3. Moisturize: Apply a moisturizer to hydrate your skin.
  4. Sunscreen: Finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin.

How do I prepare my face for school?

Focus on a clean and hydrated base. Gently cleanse your skin, moisturize, and apply sunscreen. For a quick glow, you can add a touch of concealer to cover blemishes and a sheer lip balm for a hydrated look. Less is more for a natural school-day look!

Remember, consistency is key when it comes to skincare. Start incorporating these tips into your daily routine well in advance of picture day to see the best results. Your skin will thank you!

Cleanse Your Way to Clarity πŸ‘©

Start your day and end it with a gentle cleanser. Look for one that removes impurities without stripping your skin.

Hydrate and Drink up!🧊

Dry skin is a no-no especially if picture day is right around the corner! For staying hydrated on the inside 8-9 glasses of water a day is recommend. For a supple look on the outside, choose a moisturizer that locks in moisture without feeling greasy.

Exfoliate Gently!✨

Exfoliating removes dead skin cells, revealing a brighter complexion. Opt for a gentle scrub like the Hydration AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser. Remember, don’t over-exfoliate, as it can irritate your skin.

Sunscreen is Your Skin’s BFF!😎

I will mention this again, protect your skin from harmful UV rays with a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Beauty Sleep is Real!😴

Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Sleep is when your skin repairs itself, so make sure you’re getting enough rest.

Mask Magic!πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ

Treat yourself to a hydrating face mask a few days before picture day. This will give your skin an extra boost of moisture and radiance. I love the Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask from Charlotte Tilbury for an instant hydration boost.

Stress Less!πŸ‘Έ

Stress can wreak havoc on your skin, leading to breakouts and dullness. We dont want that! Try incorporating relaxation techniques like meditation or yoga into your routine. Even spending time in nature enjoying the views or the outdoors calms the soul. If you’re an introvert like me, some quiet time, with my prayer journal does it for every time.

Plan Ahead!πŸ“

Start your skincare routine early to see the best results. Consistency is key!
